William Lloyd Baughn, Jr.

William Lloyd Baughn, Jr., 81 years old of Lake Geneva, Wis., passed away Monday, October 6, 2025. He was born April 6, 1944, to the late William L. and Frances (Cairns) Baughn in Del Rio, Texas. On June 2, 1965, Bill was united in marriage with Carol Schultz in Whitewater, Wis. After teaching in Pomona, California, for two years, Bill then taught English at Burlington High School for thirty years. In retirement, Bill wrote and edited textbooks for a division of Houghton Mifflin. He and Carol enjoyed many sunny winter days in Arizona. Bill enjoyed getting lost in a good book, traveling (especially to the United Kingdom and Ireland), and cooking for his family and friends. He was happiest with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Bill especially loved hearing a good story, and he always had one of his own with which he could return the favor.

Survivors include, his wife of 60 years, Carol Baughn; daughters, Deborah (Dean) Brovick and Mary (Greg) Szul; grandchildren, Delaney Brovick, Matylda Szul, Chloe Szul, and Benjamin Szul; brother, Gary (Linda) Baughn; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Liz Schultz; sister-in-law, Linda Walsh; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Frances Baughn; and brother-in-law, Rod Walsh.
