Carol Wiseman Obituary

April 6, 1934 - July 7, 2014 Carol Wiseman was born Carol Elaine Shafer on April 6, 1934, to Irving and Juanita Shafer. She attended Los Angeles High School and then USC. Living in Los Angeles her entire life, Carol was well known and respected in the community. She had many passions in her life, including traveling the world, the years spent marlin fishing off the coast of San Diego with her young family, golf, tennis, and later bridge, as a member of Brentwood Country Club, and giving back through her many philanthropies, the closest to her being the Board of Governors at Cedars Sinai and as a Lion of Judah with the Jewish Federation. Though she had many passions, none compared to her family. Together with her first husband Bart Rivin, they had four children, Linda (husband Stan) Bernstein, Cynthia (husband Charles) Eberly, the late James (wife Antonia) Rivin, and Cheryl Rivin, eight grandchildren, Deena, Kevin, Matthew, Jenna, Jason, Lisa, Aaron, and Jessi, and seven great-grandchildren. Carol found her life partner and soulmate, Hal Wiseman, and they married in 1989. Together they surrounded their life with love, laughter, travel, and their family. She will be missed every day by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Hillside Memorial. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Stop Cancer.

Carol was an amazing lady who lit up whenever she spoke about her family. I loved when she would bring in photos of the latest grandbaby and talked about all of their achievements. I hope you are at peace now Carol, and you will be missed by all.
