Daniel Logan Obituary

LOGAN, Daniel Francis Was born on March 12, 1917 in Wilmette, Illinois. He graduated from New Trier High School and Northwestern University. He earned an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School. He also attended the Naval War College. He was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy prior to World War II and was the duty officer at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor on the morning of the attack. He married Laurel Helen Morse in 1950 and they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. He was the proud father of two daughters, Kelty and Nan. After retiring from the Navy, he joined Hughes Aircraft and enjoyed a second career in aerospace during the exciting era of space exploration. He liked Frank Sinatra, Broadway musicals, almost all movies, detective stories, and apple pie for breakfast. He treasured his friendships and his family. He enjoyed discussing current events. He will be remembered for his wit, his laughter, and his intellect. He is survived by his wife, his two daughters, his son-in-law, his two granddaughters, and his older brother. He will be greatly missed. The memorial service will be held at St. Francis Church in Palos Verdes Estates, California.
