Donald Guy Obituary

GUY, Donald Martin Born in Washington D.C. on December 13, 1929, died on November 27, 2008. Don was the youngest of eight children. A Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict, he served in Hawaii, Japan and on a man-made communication island, at French Frigate Shoals. A graduate of University of Maryland in Electrical Engineering, after military service, he worked for the National Security Agency, in Washington D.C. He came to Los Angeles when offered a job in aerospace, working in that industry until retirement. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; loving children, Brenda, Stephen and James Guy; stepchildren, Steven (Sandra), Kenneth (Katie) Grossman, Diane (Don) Gaston; grandchildren, Sierra (Brian) Carrie (Noel), Brian (Sophia), Alana, Grant, Janine; and great-granddaughter, Mim; brothers-in-law, Bob and Jerry Drucker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to a charity of your choice. Services to held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Tuesday, 1:00 p.m.

Donald was a wonderful person; I enjoyed knowing him. He was a wonderful husband to Eleanor, my dear friend, and a caring father to his children. My sincere condolences to his family.
