Enrique Barrios-Bernstein Obituary

February 11, 1918 - November 4, 2013 Enrique "Henry" passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 95 years young. Enrique was born in Mexico City and his family moved to Los Angeles, CA when he was five years old. He did all his schooling in Los Angeles, and in his 20's he went back to Mexico where he met and married Ofelia Mejia-Morales. They were married 58 years and had nine children. Enrique brought his family to Los Angeles in 1970. In 1975 he became a proud United States Citizen. Enrique worked as an engineer in Mexico City. When he came to Los Angeles he became the owner of a flower shop at Olvera Street. He retired at age 84 after 15 years of service as a Certified Court Interpreter at the Los Angeles Municipal Court. He was predeceased by his son Luis Fernando Barrios, his beautiful wife Ofelia Mejia and his loving sister Alicia De Paez. Enrique and Ofelia had nine children, 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A great man, he has left us richer for his being. A life well lived! Services will be at 10:30 AM, on Nov. 25, 2013, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, CA. Papi te queremos mucho. Vaya con Dios!
