Joan Carl Obituary
Joan Strauss Carl was an artist, teacher, humanitarian and dog lover. She was a past president of the LA Art Association and leaves a formidable body of work and commissions in private collections, museums and houses of worship. There will be a memorial service, date/time/place to be determined. Donations can be made to LA Art Association and California German Shepherd Rescue. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Elwood Carl (d.1991) and her son, Michael Carl (d.1992).
She is survived by her son, Barry Carl, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Carl, Michael's widow Dasha Carl, and grandchildren Maya and Jaci Carl.

Dear Barry & Sam: Just happen to find the obit of Joannie. I am so sorry for your loss. Joannie was a mentor to my wife Tracy. We all loved Joannie very much. I will treasure the pieces I have of hers. We love you both and offer our condolences to you. Richard, Alex, Joey.
