Thomas Litchfield Herron

1930 - 2018

May 8, 1930 - March 14, 2018 Known for making people laugh, and treating people right, Thomas Litchfield Herron died at home in his sleep on March 14, 2018. He was 87. Born in Oakland, California, Tom graduated from UC Berkeley in 1952, a proud Golden Bear. Tom later moved to Southern California where he founded George-Thomas Enterprises, and romanced Bonnie Quinn at the "the Huston Club." In 1960, Tom and Bonnie were married, and the perfect couple was inseparable for the next 58 years. Tom was much more than a father to Howard, Vince and Kathleen, and also to a number of neighborhood kids on Longview Valley Road. As much as Tom was built to be a father, however, nothing gave him more joy than being "Grumpies" to his grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Skyler, Josiah, Jordan, Dean and Ryan. Tom entertained with his humor, and the world was a funnier place while he was in it. If Tom could change anything about his life, he might choose to change his golf game . . . but not a single other thing. With this life over, Tom is surely announcing that he "will begin again." Memorial services for Tom will be held on April 9, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woodland Hills Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Living Desert in Palm Desert, California, or Students Run LA in Tarzana.
