Beverly Barnes Obituary

Beverly Theresa Henry was born on June 8, 1936 in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents Augustine M. Massey Kennedy and Joseph Henry. She was raised by her loving step father Claude C. Kennedy. As a young girl, Beverly and her family moved to California where she attended Willowbrook Junior High School and Compton High School. Beverly was baptized and became a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Los Angeles, where she served as an usher, sang in the choir and was a devoted member of the Women of Judah. Beverly was employed by the Compton Drive-In and The Los Angeles Unified School District as an administrative clerk, where she retired in the 1990's. Beverly enjoyed life to the fullest. In her spare time, she loved sewing, traveling, puzzles and word search. She also enjoyed her weekly lunch dates with her lady friends and spending quality time with her loving family. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law, one son-in-law and one grandson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory; Loretta (Macc), Eugene, Reginald, Rochelle and Syrethea (Donald), 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
