Jim was a wonderful mentor to me when I was a young executive, leading the West End Boys' Clubs. I recall, like it was yesterday, when Jim stepped off the board; the void I felt without his guidance was palpable. Making this sound like it was yesterday, in a way it was, given Jim's influence. The "yesterday" I describe happened between 1970-1973. It's a tribute to Jim for me, and others, similarly influenced, to wonder where the years have gone. May his family and friends know the love and peace that comes solely from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dr Phelps was our family doctor, he was straight and to the point. He listened to our every word and always did his best to help my family. I was a young child back then and remember our trips to the doctor we went with no fear. He helped our struggling family get the care we needed.Thank you so much for all the care and compassion that you showed our family.

Jim, my beloved brother-in-law,loved dearly by myelf, my deceased husband and our childrn. Jim shared the love of God by his multiple years of giving of his resourses and time to any and all. When my husband, Jim's brother William, was in his valley of the shadows of death, Jim always just knew by the voice of God in his own heart, just when to fly back and be with us. No matter how ill William was when he knew Jim was coming, he would brighten up. In our sorrow of loss of Jim my heart rejoices to know Jim is whole in body now, and the two brothers who shared such love and respect for one another are together forever in heaven. I can only imagine the look on their faces when they saw each other. To all family members, you had a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather and John a best brother. I send great honor to Jim Phelps!! I will miss him and his phone calls. I loved you Jim!

Dr. Phelps was not only my family doctor but a good friend. He guided me during a very dark time in my life, for which I am so grateful. There are no doctors that care like he did. God Bless his family during this difficult time. Olivia Mejias
