Viola K. Mohn

Viola K. Mohn MYERSTOWN Viola K. Mohn, 99, died Friday, November 15, 2013, at StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown. She was the wife of Harold F. Mohn, to whom she would have been married 73 years on November 28, 2013. Born in Myerstown, on February 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Ervin E. and Carrie (Kohn) Kohl. A 1931 graduate of Myerstown High School, she studied at the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art, Reading, the Famous Artists School, Westport, Conn., and the Lebanon Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for 10 years at Kohl Brothers and was a former member of Myerstown U.C.C. An artist, illustrator, and author, she enjoyed researching genealogy and nature, traveling to Europe, looking at architecture, reviewing past ancestors' history, and was a Girl Scout leader and camp director for over 50 years. She was inducted into the ELCO School District Hall of Fame in 1996. In addition to her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl C. Kohl. Services and interment will be privately held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Myerstown Community Library, 199 N.
