Chester Eugene Mechling, 78, of Kittanning, died on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, in ACMH Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1943, in Kittanning, to the late Floyd F., Sr. and Rhoda M. (Jordan) Mechling.
Chester attended the Kittanning Church of God and was an honorary member of Kittanning Hose Co. No. 6. He once did upholstery work.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings: George R. (Kathleen) Mechling, of Ford City, Evelyn (Roy Dale) Gearhart, of Rural Valley, William (Carol) Mechling, of Sebring, Fla. and Edna (Richard) Molchen, of Madison, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Amy Mechling and Shirley Mechling, both of Ford City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Darrell R. Mechling and Floyd F. Mechling, Jr.
Chester's family and friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, in the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning.
Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, in the funeral home, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Grimm officiating.
Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Chester's name to the Kittanning Church of God, 201 Smith St., Kittanning, PA 16201.
