Columbus, GA- Mrs. Carrie Ann Harris, 68, of Columbus, GA died on Thursday, January 10, 2019.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. John A.M.E. Church, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Dr. Rodney Smith, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2 - 8 p.m. EST with a family hour from 6 - 7 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Harris was born December 23, 1950 in Phenix City, AL to Johnny Mae Abrons Williams and the late Homer Williams. She was a graduate of Carver High School; had been employed with Northern Trust Bank and was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include her mother, Johnnie Mae Williams; son, Richard B. Harris of Columbus, GA; daughter, Nicole E. Harris of Lansing, IL; two grandchildren, Kayla N. Watts of Lansing, MI and Benjamin Harris of Columbus, GA and a host of other relatives and friends. Please visit www.thetaylorfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest registry.

It is rare that you meet someone, who with that first smile becomes your friend.
My friendship with Carrie Ann began in grade school at Mother Mary's Mission, in Phenix City and continued as 1968 graduates at Carver High in Columbus.
Over the years we drifted apart. Yet, no matter where I was or what I was doing, when Carrie Ann's inner and outer beauty came to mind, a smile came to my face. She will always be a part of my life and me.
Carrie Ann, thank you for sharing your wonderful friendship with me; and for caring enough to show your amazing love and kindness.
To her relatives and friends, I mourn your loss. I pray that you find comfort in knowing that, "Death is not the greatest tragedy in life. It's what dies inside us while we live. "
