Essie Levada Pierce March 9, 1925- June 12, 2006 SEALE, AL— Essie Levada Pierce, 81, of Seale, AL. passed away Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. EST at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Turner officiating, according to Vance Memorial Chapel, 3738 Hwy 431 N Phenix City, AL. 36867. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Mrs. Pierce was born March 9, 1925 in Sevier, NC., daughter of Samuel Marvin Renfroe and Ruey Levada West. She was retired from the Russell County School System as an assistant manger of food service. She was a member of Seale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie E. Pierce, Sr. Survivors include six sons, Johnnie E. Pierce, Jr. and wife June of Seale, AL., Jerald E. Pierce of Seale, AL., Jeffery E. Pierce of Beauregard, AL., Joseph E. Pierce and wife Debbie of Smiths, AL., James E. Pierce of Seale, AL. and Jay E. Pierce of Seale, AL.; two daughters, Judith E. Chastain and husband Benjamin of Seale, AL. and Janice E. Peterson and husband Roy of Salem, AL.; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
