Georgia Lamb May 6, 1922 - February 25, 2004 SMITHS STATION, AL - Mrs. Georgia Lamb, the wife of Eddie Will Lamb, died on Feb. 25 at her home. She was 81 years old and resided at 240 Lee Road 248 in Smiths Station, Ala. Funeral services will be held 1 pm today, Tuesday, March 2, in the sanctuary of Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church, Smiths Station with the Reverend H.C. Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Ala., according to Taylor Funeral Home, Phenix City. Mrs. Lamb was born May 6, 1922 in Smiths Station, a daughter of the late Sally (Lynn) Weaver and Perry Weaver Sr. She lived in the area all of her life and was a dedicated and faithful member of the Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church until the onset of her illness. Over the years, she served as Pastor's Aide, was a member of the Stewardess Board, Missionary Society and Usher Board. She also served as President of the Mattie E. Coleman Circle, Chairperson of District Workshops and was among the first to organize an annual church parade. Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Eastern Star and Order of Golden Circle Marie Jones #85, and was a volunteer worker with the V.F.W. Post #7994. Until a few years ago, she volunteered actively in the community serving on the Ladies Auxiliary of the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, Senior Wise 65 and many others. Georgia was indeed a special person in every aspect. All of her efforts have been characterized by devotion, dedication and vision. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lamb's two daughters, Vera Mae and Elizabeth Lamb and four brothers, Perry Weaver Jr., Euegene Weaver, Lonnie Weaver and Brady Weaver, preceded her in death. Survivors other than her loving and devoted husband of 66 years include a daughter, Sally Lenora Lamb Singleton of Springfield, Mass.; two grandsons, Eric Quentin Fleming of Jacksonville and Edrian D. Artognon Singleton of Springfield, Mass.; four great grandchildren, Erric Chambers of Valley, Ala., SaunjeŽ Shamari Singleton of Springfield, Taj Calijah Singleton and Kai Jabor' Singleton, also of Springfield; two sisters, Lucille Moffet and Evelyn Harris, both of Smiths, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends and loved ones. Gratitude beyond expression is extended to Dr. James Zumstein and the Vista Care Hospice staff of Phenix City, Ala., Alice Hunter and family and the family of the late Lillie M. Seldon.
