I visited John at his advertising agency in Wynnton back in the early 70s, and I asked him at which radio station he had worked, and he said he'd never worked in radio. As a voice-over production guy, that was hard for me to imagine, because his production skills and equipment technology were a whole level better than the radio stations and their people. His audio and creativity was amazing, and way ahead of it's time. He definitely was one of the most creative and talented men I've ever known, and he will be missed by me, too. I looked up to him as a friend, and as a professional.

My condolences to Beverly & the Suhr family.
I went through high school with John and was in the Columbus High School Orchestra with John 7th thru 12th grades. I have fond memories of him slapping that string bass. I also remember going with my mother to John's mother's White Elephant shop.
I hadn't seen John since graduation. I never lived in Columbus after graduating from Auburn in 1960. I headed west.
God bless you all.

Beverly and Family, John was a very special man to all who met or knew him. We worked together for 15 years at Bill Heard and he always managed to put a smile on my face (he loved brightening my day with his "corny" jokes). He was truly a great man and the most kind hearted person I have ever known. My heart aches for the loss that I know you guys are feeling...He will be missed dearly!

John was one of the most memorable people I ever met. We worked together at Litho-Krome, where he was a bundle of ideas for expressing his view of the world. He was a good friend, and although we did not meet again as we moved on in life, I have and will not ever forget him. Rest in peace, friend.

To Mr. Suhr's immediate and extended family ...
My heartfelt condolences to all of you.
Some years ago, Mr. Suhr graciously supplied me with helpful information that was used to construct a personal tribute to the WRBL-WTVM TV Tower. I am most certain that he touched countless other lives in many ways.
