I was deeply moved by the loss of such a wonderful man. I just learned of his passing today. I worked for Mr. Farmer and knew him as a great educator and a compassionate and caring man who loved his students. He was an inspiration to me and many others. His leadership encouraged me in my beginning years of teaching and stayed with me throughout my 30 (plus) years as an educator. My prayers go out for his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Cathy Corbett Clark (Former Teacher, Britt David Elementary)

I am heart-broken that I have just learned of Mr. Farmer's passing. My mother, Leila Russell worked for him as a cashier before becoming a dietitian. I worked for Mr. Farmer teaching 5th and 6th grades from 1975-1980. We all loved him and had a special 'era' at Britt David. He was a wonderful human being. I am very sorry that I did not know this sooner so I could have attended the funeral. Blessings to you, Pat and all family members. Know that he was extraordinary. Love, Vicki Russell Yoe

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Thomas. Some of the happiest times of my life were when Thomas and I were roommates at Troy State ( 1957-58). We competed in high school basketball ( Wicksburg Vs. Abbeville). We never won - REASON - Thomas' outside shot. If I tried to describe him, I would say Thomas is Thomas. I will always remember him as a true man. Doyle Bond

Dear Pat-------Louise Watson remembers Tom well, as do I, a handsome and wonderful friend and teacher. With a name like his, it was not difficult to admire and respect him. A teacher affects eternity; who can tell where his influence stops? I was sorrowful to learn of Tom's passing as he has been my friend since Edgewood Baptist days when we played basketball together. He was the best player on the team, other than myself (just teasing), but he was good and we were a very good team together. Sally and I will hold you and the children in our hearts.
Love,
The Jack and Lois Brinkley family

Prayers are with the Farmer family. I am so sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Farmer. He was my principal at Britt David during the early 80s. I taught for many principals during my 31 years in education, and Mr. Farmer was the best!

Mr Farmer was my 7th grade teacher at Tillinghurst School. He was what we kids used to call " our first "man" teacher as most teachers back in the day were ladies. He made learning fun and I can honestly say he was my all-time favorite teacher. Not to mention, all us girls had a crush on him. He was such a handsome man and boy did he rock those banlon shirts that were popular back then.
My sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to all his family. May God bless you all and hold you in his loving arms as you say goodbye to this wonderful man who made such a difference in children's lives over his long teaching career.
