Aaron "Ron" L. Levitt

Aaron L. "Ron" Levitt formerly of New York City, NY passed away on May 15, 2022 in Chevy Chase, Maryland after a long illness. Born March 29, 1940 in Wilmington, Delaware, Ron was the son of the late Sylvia (Altman) Levitt and Melvin Levitt. He attended P.S. DuPont High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science degree from Rutgers University.

After spending his childhood in Wilmington, Ron and his young family moved to New York where he worked for renowned advertising agencies until he found his passion for market research. Ron ultimately spent 19 years at Citibank, retiring in 1995 as Vice President of Market Research, Credit Card Division. Throughout his life, Ron was also a prolific artist who worked with oils and pencil, drawing still life and portraits with an uncanny likeness of his subjects. Known as an avid, passionate sports fan who loved the NY Jets and NY Mets, Ron could be heard yelling and cheering for his teams during games, whether in a stadium, at home or elsewhere. When not watching or attending sporting events, he successfully followed the stock market and took pleasure in talking about current events with his family and friends. Later in his life he enjoyed traveling, and collected countless postcards from all over the world.

Wherever he was, Ron's presence was always known because of his lively sense of humor, spirited energy, and candid views. His joie de vivre was infectious and will be sorely missed.

Ron is survived by his son, Mark Levitt of Washington, DC, his daughter, Sondra Levitt of Arlington, Virginia; his only nephew, Matthew (Becky) Lawson of Dallas, Texas, two grandnieces, Evangeline and Violet Lawson; and several close friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his second wife, Roselle (Kramer) Levitt and sister Lois (Levitt) Bush and brother-in-law, Bill Bush.

A memorial service and a private burial will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Art Students League of New York (www.theartstudentsleague.org) or The American Parkinson's Disease Association. (www.apdaparkinson.org).
