Alain J. Pompey

Alain J. Pompey passed away peacefully Easter Sunday at Memorial Hospital.He was 79 years old.Alain was born in France to Henri and Marie-Louise Pompey and immigrated to Monterey County with his family in the 1960s. He lived here for 62 years. He is survived by his wife Irmgard Pompey, his daughter Michelle Brumfield, son's Alain Pompey, Andre Pompey and Eric Pompey, stepson Stefan Spohr, stepdaughter Christine Trammell, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his 3 sisters out of 10 siblings.Alain has worked for many industries in Monterey County and has gained lasting friendships along the way. Alain was a larger-than-life character who loved hunting, fishing & telling jokes. He also loved talking about his days as a young boy in France. A viewing will be held at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St. Salinas, Ca. 93901 on April 18th, 2023 from 2-5pm. The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 22 Stone St. Salinas, CA. 93901 on April 19th, 2023 at 9:30am followed by his resting place at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA. 93901.Instead of flowers, his family would appreciate a donation the Monterey County SPCA in the name of his 2 beloved dogs Heidi and Lila.Rest in Peace!
