Althea Bradbury Schlenoff Althea Bradbury Schlenoff, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Bradbury (Philadelphia), passed away peacefully on April 7, 2009, in Tallahassee, at the age of 85. Althea was happiest in the company of her two sons, Joe and Dan, and their families, and her friends and family worldwide. Althea was an accomplished art historian as a scholar, a teacher, a writer and a student, and a decent artist in her own right. After graduating from Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, she earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Art History from Smith College and New York University, respectfully, and then studied at the University of Florence under a Fulbright Scholarship. She married Norman Schlenoff in New York and later brought up her family in London, while she diligently worked on her doctorate from the Sorbonne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, her sister, Emily and her brothers, Wilmer and Samuel. She is survived by her two sons, Joe Schlenoff of Tallahassee (and his wife Zeina and their two children, Natasha and Philip) and Daniel of New York City (and his daughter Eleanor). She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. A memorial service for Althea Schlenoff will be held 3 p.m. EDT, Saturday, April 18, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32312.
