Anthony Lee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 28, 2024.
Anthony "Tony" Richard Lee, 37, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away on April 21, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1986, in Washington, Missouri.

Tony, the second child of James and Christina Lee, was known for his quiet and introverted nature, but those who knew him well appreciated his dry sense of humor and quick wit. He had a remarkable memory and a talent for excelling at anything he put his mind to. His love for sports, particularly Notre Dame football, the Chicago White Sox, Bears and Blackhawks, was evident to all who knew him. Tony's ability to recall player stats and random facts made him an invaluable asset to any trivia team.

Animals held a special place in Tony's heart, he had a unique connection with them, as his pet walking and sitting clients can attest. Although he was reserved, those who had the privilege of getting to know him deeply cherished his friendship and miss him dearly.

Tony is survived by his father, James Lee; mother, Christina Lee; sister, Danielle Lee; maternal grandmother, Vera Pena; maternal grandfather, Arthur Pena; and paternal aunt and uncle, Joy and Tim Knott. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marion Richard Lee and Virginia Lee.

A graduate of Hoover High School and Jefferson State Community College, Tony's passion for learning, technology and sports will be remembered by all who knew him.

No memorial services are planned for Tony Lee. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Professional services entrusted to W.E. Lusain Funeral Home and Crematory, Birmingham, AL.

Tony, along with a big group of friends in high-school would meet up at new China in bluff park every Friday evening at 8 o clock. We did it consistently for years even after graduating. We all would play games some of us in athletics and other walks of hobbies and life. Most all of us played computer games and centered ourselves around that community. I first met Tony through playing computer and at Hoover in different classes, our friendship grew. Later on it was great to work out and see him to reconnect at planet fitness. Prayers and blessings to family and friends. Sending love.

I was so saddened to hear of Tony's passing. He was a wonderful person and always took such great care of our pets, Cassie and Dolly. I always enjoyed Tony's updates and our conversations back and forth over the past few years about what he & the animals would get up to while I was away. He is going to be so greatly missed. I am so, so sorry for this loss, and my heart goes out to his family.
