Apolonia Zaplotynsky Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 11, 2016.
Apolonia "Appy" Zaplotynsky (nee Miller) July 31, 1931 - April 29, 2016

Appy passed away peacefully on April 29, 2016, after a 2 year battle with cancer. She loved to dance, and played a mean game of crib and whist. After retiring from Wiser Lock after 25 years, she enjoyed traveling, her favorite place being Reno. She was an extremely hard working mother, raised her 4 children, and played a major roll in helping raise her granddaughter and great granddaughter. Predeceased by daughter Sharon, and 1 grandson; Appy is survived by her children Gary, Debbie (Dave) and David, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Graveside Memorial to be held at 1pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby. Special thanks to the Free Masons for all the amazing work they do.

My mom was a teenager when she met Appy. Mom use to go and hang out over at Appy's and they became very good friends. She was always there for my mom all throughout the years. I always thought of her as my "aunt". After my own mom passed away, she was always someone I went to when I needed another sounding board. I also went and played crib with her some Sundays. I will miss the stories she told me of my mom and her, also I will miss picking up the phone and just chatting about this and that. Thank you for always being there for me, Aunty Appy. I will always love and miss you. R.I.P.

Appy, Thank you for accepting me into your wonderful, crazy family. It was sure a small world when I found out that you worked with a former Aunt of mind at Wyser lock. Thank you also for your support when Dawn and I first got together. We made it past 5 years!!! I will miss you and I will treasure the memories of having you in my life these last 20 years. Rest in Peace.
