I surely miss my good friend Asa. He is now with the Angels looking over and helping the children as he did in his earthly world. He was one of the kindest and generous men I have ever known!

Asa: Our family never had the opportunity to meet you, however we felt like we had known you forever. Your Mom always spoke about you to our family. We even talked about taking a trip to Alaska and how you would show us around. I am sad we did not get that opportunity. We will keep your family in our prayers that they will soon find comfort. Asa, from the first moment we saw you, our heart was forever captured. You moved into your own little corner where you will forever stay. Over the years we watched you grow from childhood into a handsome young man with so many good qualities and so full of life. As with everyone, you occasionally had bumps in your road; however, you traveled over them full speed ahead and continued your journey of growth into the fine and loving young man you became. We were proud and blessed to be part of your life and call you nephew. We will miss you dearly and look forward to the day we reunite in heaven for eternity. Rest in peace sweet Asa. Love Uncle Mike & Aunt Sissy

My prayers are with the Swinney family, I had the privilege to work with Asa for many years at Rockford and in that time I cannot think of another who went out of his way for more people. His caring nature to help out others and his character is a testament to his upbringing.Asa thanks for the many memories we shared - I will never forget the Lake Pleasant trip or the whitewater rafting trip we all took. RIP Asa

Dear Janet and Family,
I sent an audio message a few days ago, but to be double sure you received it, I'm resending it via this note. I am Sherrie Murphree from Odessa, & I'm the mom of Valerie. My heart aches with you at the loss of Asa. I think of good King Asa in the Bible and then the many good things Valerie has told us about your Asa. I hope Ps. 116:15 is of comfort to you. I am willing to be a listening ear anytime you might want to talk. The Melvin Murphree family cares.

Janet, Latayne and Ray, Heaven just got one of the good ones. Although no words can really help ease the loss you bear, just know God lost a son too and he knows your pain. It is difficult to see beyond the sorrow but may the memories of Asa and God bring you comfort and peace. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. May God wrap his loving arms around you. Big hugs!!! God bless you and comfort you!!!! Ray the video was wonderful.

Janet and kids, I'm thinking of all of you and holding you in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. I haven't the words to express my sadness of Asa Ron's passing. I can still see my little blue eyed cousin and cousin he truly was as far as we were concerned. He is visiting with his grandparents, his dad, and Uncle Raymond. We will see them all one day. Asa was the most generous man I know. He cared about others' safety on and off the job - his prayers contributed to our safety while attempting to climb Mt. McKinley. I was hoping to thank him face to face after I got off the mountain but I guess we'll just have to hang out in Heaven one day. Working remote on the slope will not be the same without you Asa.

I'm deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Asa.
I know how difficult this loss must be for the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Asa was such a humorous and competitive person at everything he did.
I remember one time at Glamis, every one of us were having such a hard time keeping up with his riding skills. When he finally decided to stop riding, he told us that he was just playing around. Those were great memories that I know we would not be able to experience together again on this earth.
Because you were a great person with a huge heart, I know you will be deeply missed.
May God bless you and your family during this hard time and always,
Valerie Murphree

Asa was my first love back in my younger days. I spent the next 25 years holding a special place in my heart for him. I had the blessing of reconnecting with him 6 months ago and was able to spend alot of time getting to know his precious heart all over again. He truly was such a loving, caring, kind, fun, sincere, giving person. Asa did have a life change and told me that on March 3, 2014, he got down on his knees in Alaska and surrendered his life once and for all to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (that is the way he worded it). He spent the rest of his time here on earth telling others about Jesus, wanting them to know Him personally like he did. Asa is in heaven experiencing complete peace and a joy that we cannot even comprehend, being loved on by THE One who created love . . it can't get any better than that. I will miss Asa terribly (and those beautiful blue eyes). My heart goes out to the whole Swinney family. You had an amazing son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He loved ya'll so much! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Jan, When I think of Asa I will always think of having so much fun with you watching those boys playing Little League Baseball. My mom and dad, Roy & Minta Moseley, really enjoyed it more when you were there. Of course Geneo and Jaroy got to see Asa more than we did, since they went to school with him. Jaroy was the one who played ball with Asa and Geneo graduated with him. Jaroy graduated the next year. Hope to see you before too long in Timberon. Then I can give you a hug and we can pray together. I know that our Loving Lord will give you the strength to get though this. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and I will save you lots of hugs till I ccan see you and give them to you in person

Thank you for all the wonderful memories & time you spent with us over the many years as a brother, best friend, brother-in-law and most importantly "O'l Uncle Ace." You were a magnet to people you met when they simply looked into those "Big Blue Eyes" of yours and could immediately see to the core of your soul that you were a great human being & contributor to life! While I am saddened that we will not see you on Earth any longer, I am very proud of you accepting Christ back into your life as you did as a teenager and finally found the peace you searched for your entire life.
Love you so much Bro!
We will all meet up again & give you a Great Big Hug!

It was my pleasure to have worked with and known Asa. He was a wonderful gentleman and a decent caring individual. He was, or should I say, is an intelligent brave and worthwhile human being. Always did he have a smile for you upon greeting and exhibited sensitivity to your character. We shared about issues we all face as we develop our humanity to the goal of ever being a better person, and so he was committed and successful in his effort to do so. He appreciated the qualities in others and always had a supportive and thoughtful word to say. I once told him I bought a tin wind up toy. He told me he had been collecting them for years buying then wrapping up and storing them until he was to become elderly, where he would unwrap them after so many years not remembering what it was particularly that he had bought. I had thought that some day I could stop by and see them too. Well plans don't always go our way, so I'll put that visit off for now and catch up with him on the other side. He sure is a lot of fun, a Fine man and will be missed for now. My regards to his family.

Asa...or Ace as I knew him was and is one of the greatest men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Ace was my training partner in the gym for years as I began chasing my dream of making a living solely from bodybuilding. Without question he was one of the very first to believe in me and not only supported my goals but pushed me physically, mentally, and emotionally towards success. I could write pages on all the ways that Asa was a great man but instead I will just say that he was without a doubt a true friend and someone I hope to become more like in my life. We lost a great man but his memory will live with me forever.
Asa, if you can read this know that I am forever grateful that you were in my life and for all you taught me.
