Attila Kozma

Attila Kozma passed away at home August 5, ending his five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Attila was born in Hungary in 1957. He served as a sergeant in the Hungarian military before he and his first wife escaped the Communist regime and came to Canada in 1981. Attila lived briefly in Montreal before settling in Prince George, where he worked for the City as a facility operator.

Attila was an amazing dancer and a well-loved member of the local dance community. In 2004, Attila joined his second wife as a dance instructor at the YMCA and for the past ten years has shared his skill and enthusiasm with countless students.

Attila loved the outdoors and spending time on his boat. He found peace on the water, and with the support of his caring friends, he was able to overcome the limitations of his debilitating illness to get out on the lake numerous times this summer.

Attila was a passionate man - he loved people, spirited conversation, spicy food, and lively music. Attila deeply loved his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Attila is survived by his wife, Alison McNeill; his son, Travis Kozma; his ex-wife, Rozalia Kozma; his brother, Bela Kozma of Hungary; and many friends.

A celebration of Attila's life will be held on Friday, August 15 at the All Nations Church Hall (1919 17th Ave) from 1:30-4:30pm.
