Dalton, GA - Mrs. Betty Sue Painter, 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 9 until 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, at Berhardt Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Greg Williams of Grove Level Baptist Church, Dalton, GA. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, GA.

Mrs. Painter was a native of Dalton, GA and a resident of Shreveport, LA for six years. She was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church in Dalton.

Mrs. Painter was preceded in death by her husband, H. E. Painter; sister, Gladys Morris; mother, Oveline Whitaker; father, Cecil Whitaker; and step-mother, Bea Whitaker. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Lynch of Shreveport, LA; three grandchildren, Christine Reynolds of Plano, TX, Sarah O'Connor of Whitney, TX and Natalie Qualls of Waco, TX; two great-grandchildren, William and Caleb Reynolds of Plano, TX. She is also survived by four sisters, Lois Waddell and Charlotte Dickey both of Ellijay, GA, Brenda Downs of Snellville, GA and Hilda Bailey of Ellijay, GA; and two brothers, Ben Whitaker of Ellijay, GA and Hayden Whitaker of Snellville, GA.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
