A Celebration of the Life of Billie Lee Scott, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Scott passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Knoxville, TN, she was the sixth child of the late Benjamin and Mary Norton Mitchell. She was the wife of the late Samuel O. Scott, Jr. Mrs. Scott was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and a former member of Asbury UMC. She loved all children, her two dogs, Odie and Molly, and most importantly, she was devoted to her family and friends. Mrs. Scott was known by her special friends for her “Friendship Cakes.”
Surviving are her children, Diane Scott, Gary Scott, Sammie Scott (Denise), Lisa Scott Dolan (Bryon); grandchildren, David Mantooth, Jennifer Scott Winland, Kendra Marie Scott; great-grandchildren, Wynn, Rhett, Claudia and Paisley. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Bowman; and brothers, Charles and Jerry Mitchell. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Lexington Medical Center and Abbey Road Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to our mother as well as our family during this difficult time.

Gary, Diane, Sam, & Lisa, wanted to let you know how much we love you and are thinking of you during this difficult time. We just found out about Billie, and are saddened to hear. It is difficult for mom and dad to travel and will not be able to make the trip. Please know if you need anything, please call.
