Bonnie Jean (Brophy) Day, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 19, 2018.
Bonnie was born to Irene (Chluda) Brophy and William J. Brophy on July 19, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents William and Irene Brophy, her son Ronald (Ronny) Lee Day, her siblings John Brophy, Tom Brophy and Shirley Robledo.
Bonnie is survived by: her children Anthony (Tony) Brucato and his wife Denise Brucato of Rancho Cucamonga, Tammy (Brucato) Johnson of Rancho Cucamonga and Randall (Randy) Day of Upland; Siblings William and Sue Brophy of Arizona, Alfred and Carol Brophy of California and Patricia Lawrie-Smith of Florida; Grandchildren Kelsey Johnson, Alexandria Johnson, Marilyn Carey, Zachary Day, Desirae Brucato and Jaycee Day; Great Grandchildren Avery Johnson, Oliver Johnson, Nathan Day, Aubrey Day and Alison Day. Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and very Dear Friends.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio she moved with her family to Pasadena, California in 1945 where she attended elementary school. Her family then moved to Ontario, California in 1955 where she attended DeAnza Jr High and Chaffey High School.
Bonnie worked various jobs during her life; She started working at an early age and by the time she was 16, she had 2 charge accounts and bought all of her own clothes. She worked at Ramons Cactus Patch in Ontario during the 60s. She was a bartender at her brother Johnnys bar, Brophys, in Montclair during the 70s while she attended school to become a Psychiatric Technician. Once she finished school she went to work at Lanterman State Hospital until she retired to Lake Havasu City, AZ in the 90s. Bonnie returned to Upland, California in 2012 to live out her last years near loved ones. Bonnie loved Jesus, loved Willie Nelson, loved to laugh and loved her family and friends dearly. She will be missed greatly by all who had the wonderful opportunity to know her.
