A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellevue. Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel of Bellevue is in charge of the arrangements.
Brenda Lou Zeck was born Jan. 31, 1961, to Darrell and Judith (Ball) Zeck in Beloit, Wis. In 1967, the family moved to South Dakota, where Brenda attended school in Garden City and Clark. In 1977, the family moved to Conde, where she graduated from high school in 1979.
Brenda married Michael Gabriel in 1979 and they moved to Bellevue, where Brenda was employed with Mutual of Omaha for 18 years.
On Dec. 31, 1998, Brenda married Robert Rynders of Bellevue. Brenda owned a Scooters Coffee House, a lifelong dream of hers. She continued to work there until 2006, when her health weakened due to a malignant brain tumor.
Brenda's greatest passion was her family, for which she loved hosting family gatherings. She also loved traveling with her husband, Bob, especially to the Romantic Islands of Hawaii.
Brenda's grandchildren - Hannah, Haley, Lauren, Tyler, and Nathan - were her pride and joy. She was the best "Nana" ever. Also very dear to her were the family dogs, Joey and Lucy. Her beautiful smile and warm, sensitive, loving personality will live on forever in all of those whom she had touched.
Grateful for sharing her life were her husband, Bob, of Bellevue, Neb.; sons: Chad (Pam) Gabriel of Bellevue, Neb., Eric (Tracey) Gabriel of Bellevue, Neb., Scott and Andrew Rynders of Bellevue, Neb.; daughters: Kristin (Jason) Welch of Bellevue, Neb., and Andrea Gabriel of Bellevue, Neb.; her mother, Judith Zeck of Conde, S.D.; two sisters: Julie (Paul) Malsom of Mina, S.D., and Penny Schumacher of Conde, S.D.; one brother, Darrell (Bud) (Angie) Zeck of Fosteria, Mich.; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Zeck; one nephew, Nick Rynders; and her paternal grandparents, Dorothy Wettstein and Ted Zeck.
