Fr. Shiel married us in St Bernadettes Church 29 years ago. He was a fellow country-man who was always keen to share a story of his days in Ireland. Blessed to have seen him in his retirement home in QLD. You will be always missed.

My Uncle Brendan was my father's last surviving sibling and I'm so pleased I was able to visit him in Carlton before his retirement. A wonderful man, may he rest in peace.

He was our priest and a very dear, respected and loved friend. Well read and a delight to discuss across a wide range of subjects. We visited him last at his retirement home in Queensland and we will miss him greatly. May God welcome him with open arms.
