Brett Douglas Obituary
Age 54, of East Rochester, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was born July 27, 1959 in Akron to Eleanor (Cromis) Douglas of Uniontown and the late Donald Douglas. He retired from the Timken Company where he was a welder.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Christine (Porter) Douglas whom he married April 3, 1982; two daughters, Morgan and Kelsey Douglas; and a son, Colin Douglas all of the home; two sisters, Sandy (Michael) Ryan of Bay Village and Peggy (James) Lloyd of Hernando, MS, 2 brothers, Scott Douglas of Jacksonville, FL and Craig (Sue) Douglas of Hartville.
Funeral services will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Joseph Ertl officiating. Calling hours will be two hours prior to services on Monday from 5-7pm. At a loss for words, I wish to express my sympathy. I worked with Brett at the library in Englewood. Such a sweet man. We didn't get to meet his family, but he spoke of you guys so often. Shared stories and photos and even talked about the dogs.Hard working and always, always pleasant. He is so missed by the staff, and we are so sorry for your loss. I am sorry to know of this loss to you. It is always hard to see this from a school friend. We had fun in high school and as most, we part ways and lose all contact until we see this and are sad because of it. I always liked "Brett" and have nothing bad to say of him. May "GOD" give you all the strength you need to get through.

Brett was a high school classmate and good friend, despite the fact that we ran in different circles socially, he in sports and I in music. Brett had a quiet humor and an easy laugh....we had some good times trading barbs in the math classes we attended together. I'll always have fond memories of him. My sympathy to those he left behind.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Brett and wish to offer you and your family my sincerest sympathy. I worked with Brett for only a short time and in addition to being a valued colleague, he was always willing to help and with a smile.
Brett was a tremendous asset to our us and the entire staff had a great admiration and respect for his work and his possitive attitude with our library system.
