Celesta M. (Scappaticci) Rossetti, 88, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Lutheran Home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Louis J. Rossetti who died on March 4, 2016, and her daughter Frances A. Arduca. She is survived by her loving children, Stephen L. Rossetti and his wife Maureen of Salisbury MA. formerly of Shrewsbury, Sheila R. Lathrop and her husband Herbert of Wells Maine and Maryann Pelissier and her husband Kevin of Hadley MA. Celesta was the proud grandmother to her six grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Jill, Robert and his wife Lorena, Kevin, Danielle and her husband Jonathan, Joseph and his wife Kristan, and Michael. She adored her great grandchildren, Matthew, John, Ryan, Louis, Sebastian, Camryn, Zachary, Joseph III, and a new great granddaughter due in November. Celesta also leaves a sister, Anna Cargiulo and her husband Maurice of Worcester and many nephews and nieces.  She was also predeceased by her brother Carmine Scappaticci and sister Alicia Picard.
Celesta was born in Worcester daughter of the late Carmine and Mary (Gamba) Scappaticci and lived here all her life. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She was a graduate of David Fanning High School. She was a lifelong seamstress, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Union. She was employed at several companies in her working career, most notably Cover Corp. of America. In her early years, she completed hair styling school, and worked briefly in that field before returning to her sewing roots. Celesta's passion was her family and she loved a party, whether she was the hostess or helping someone else. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. She devoted her life to those family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center especially Maria, Sierra and Colleen who treated our parents like their own.
Celesta’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 37 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00AM to 10:30AM in the funeral home.   Celesta will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in Saint John’s Cemetery.  Those who wish to remember Celesta by way of a memorial tribute are kindly asked to consider the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923. Dear Stephen, Maureen, Sheila, Herb, Maryann, Kevin and families.
My sympathy to the Rossetti family from my brothers and I on the loss of your mother Esta, my wonderful Italian aunt. What little time I was able to spend with your mom and dad left me with wonderful memories and a thicker waistline from the fantastic food your mom used to make. I know she is at peace in heaven with Jesus and many Rossetti and Scappaticci family members.

Stephen and Maureen, I send you and your family my love, sincere sympathy and heartfelt thoughts. So very sad for you all. Your parents were always so kind, affectionate and welcoming. I loved when Maureen would bring me to your parents' house. A home of joy and where your mum always had something delicious to taste. It was an honor and true pleasure to have known your parents. Please know that you are in my heart and that my deepest thoughts are with you.
With love, Michelle (Horgan) Dieudonné
