Charles E. Kelley

Charles Emil Kelley, 78, of Ross Township, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Lifecare Bellevue Campus surrounded by his family. Kelley was born Dec. 18, 1937, to Charles and Marie (Krueger) Kelley, in New Castle. He resided in North Hills with his loving wife of 47 years, Maryann (Kleeb) Kelley. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1956 and was a long time member of the Boy Scouts of America. Kelley worked 26 years at ALCOSAN, retiring in 1996. He was an active member of the AFL-CIO. He then worked at Pittsburgh Mailing for several years. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved people, golf, antique cars and all Pittsburgh sports. Kelley is survived by his wife, Maryann; daughter, Katie (Bob) Hammaker; son, Chuck (Shannon) Kelley; son, Kevin (Kelley) Kelley; grandchildren, Travis and Courtney Hammaker; sister, Rita O'Brien; and a niece and three nephews, as well as special friends Henry and Marion Karbowski. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law John O'Brien.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa of Avila Church, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME INC., 806 Perry Highway, Ross Township.
