Charles McBurney Obituary
93, entered his eternal rest on 1-12-2008 at the Reformed Presbyterian Home, Pittsburgh. Son of late Rev. Wilbur & Minnie Mae McBurney. Graduated from Geneva College in 1938 & received Masters in History at KS Univ. Lt. 1st Class in Navy during WWII. Taught in Olathe, KS, joined faculty @ Geneva College where he was Asst Prof of Political Science, Dir of Admissions, & Asst to Dean. Life long member of the RP Church & elder in several congregations throughout life. Leaves daughter & husband, Dr. Duncan & Carol (McBurney) Lowe, Penn Hills, & son & wife, Donald & Sharyn McBurney, Beaver Falls, 6 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren, & many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to parents and wife, Mabel Elizabeth Ward McBurney, he was preceded in death by his sister, Caroline McCready. Memorial Service held 2-16-2008 at RP Home.
