Corine McCray Green

Corine McCray Green, a native of Zachary and a resident of Baton Rouge, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 83. She was a member of the Redwood Baptist Church where she was the president of the Senior Choir for many years. Visitation at Miller & Daughters Mortuary, Zachary, on Wednesday, Jan. 5, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service will be held at Redwood Baptist Church on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jesse Williams officiating. Interment in Zachary Public Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Wesley Green Jr. and wife Yvonne, Percy Green and wife Janice and Herman Green, all of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Bettye G. Harris and husband Willie, Rosa G. Franklin and husband Curtis, and Lizzie White, all of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Alfred McCray and wife Inetha, of Baton Rouge, and Lawrence McCray and wife Mable, of Zachary; 10 grandchildren, Roin Franklin, Wesley Green III and wife Lawanna, Monica Green, Belinda Veal and husband David, Angela Green, Russell Green and wife Nicole, Andrea Johnson, Ted White and wife Ladricca, Kylin White and wife Kientha, all of Baton Rouge, and Kenderick Franklin and fiancée Rekayla, of Kilgore, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Green Sr.; father and mother, Hudson and Creasy McCray; eight sisters, three brothers and a grandchild, Marcus L. Franklin.
