Cyrus Beck Obituary

Cyrus L. Beck, 79, of Kelso, died April 26, 2005 at St. John Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1925 to John and Florence (Holbrook) Beck. He lived in the Kelso area all his life except for five years he spent in Italy and Panama during his service with the U.S. Army. Cyrus and Elizabeth Tompkins were married September 24, 1947 in Kelso. He worked at Weyerhaeuser Plywood for 37 years, retiring in 1985 due to heart problems. Cyrus and Elizabeth had six children, Jerry (Vickie) Beck of Castle Rock, Dan (Carol) Beck of Longview, Ken (Gina) Beck of Rose Valley, Gordon of Kelso, Philip (Dana) Beck

of Kalama, and Nancy (Richard) Klein of Kelso. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Mr. Beck's two sisters, June Perry and Virginia Hanks died within a month of each other in 2004. Cyrus loved to hunt, fish, ride motorcycles, his blue Jeep, and playing Scrabble with his wife, daughter and son-in-law. He loved to tease his granddaughters, Bailey and Taylor. He loved children and animals. Monthly trips to the Rochester casino were much enjoyed and meeting with his sons and friends at a local bar for coffee and pull-tabs was a must every morning. At Cyrus' request these is no funeral. Cremation has taken place at Dahl-McVicker. Interment to be a private family service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Cy you were always a good person to know and always will be . You loved life and all it had to offer and never turned back and I am sure god will bless you now in his home.
