DAYAN, Daniel Maurice

In the early hours of November 12, 2014, Daniel Maurice Dayan quietly passed away at home.
Dan was born in Paris, France June 25, 1931 and died in Calgary November 12, 2014. Survived by his loving wife Patricia A. Dayan of seven years, stepdaughter Sherl Berreth, two sons, stepson Sean M. J. Ellis, granddaughter Kelli Harris (James), great- grandchildren Kayla, Kaden, Mina and a great-great-granddaughter. Predeceased by late wives Marie and Beverley Dayan.
Dan was a very well travelled individual. He served as a flight sergeant for the RAF in Korea, stage actor in PEI - I Remember Mama (Uncle Chris), and Bendix Corp. sent Dan to work on the Avro Arrow. From Magil Univ. he became Edmonton Eskimo #17 from 1957-58. While working for Aviation Electric Dan was sent to NASA to work on the Apollo Missions. Dan moved to Alberta and began a career in sheet metal as an estimator and sales representative. He then worked as an International Trade Consultant. Dan retired at the age 70. Dan spent his last years with his wife by his side (soul mates) enjoying Jeopardy, crib and a social life with neighbours and family. His other likes were, building models, fly tying, fishing, golfing, ceramics, travel and reading to name a few. Goodbye my love, Dad and Grandpa... till we meet again.
Dan will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at Parkridge Community Hall (222 Burroughs Circle N.E.) on Wednesday November 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. If you need more info call 1-403-220-9561.
