Daphne Charlesworth

CHARLESWORTH Daphne Lyla (nee Allen) Passed away peacefully on December 7, 2008 in her 89th year. She is survived by her loving and proud children: Diana (Stephen), Jim, Laurie (Rock), and Gerry (Wendy), and son-in-law, Kevin. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Jeff (Patty), James (Seonaid), Shannon (Trey), Dan (Jodi), Jenny, Christie, and Scott and six great-grandchildren. Daphne was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Barrie, in 1998 and daughter, Cathy, in 1951. She is sorely missed by her devoted canine companion, Chilly. Daphne was born in Bassano, Alberta and moved to Vancouver as a young child. For 48 years, she was a resident of West Vancouver, where she loved the ocean, her garden, her books and her dogs. Her home was often a welcome refuge to needy animals. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the many years of friendship given to Daphne, and our family, by Dr. Les Janz. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15th at 1 :00 pm, at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1130 Jervis St., Vancouver. Parking at Super Value on Davie St. between Pendrell and Bute.
