God called Domingo “Mingo” Vela, 48, into his loving presence and gave him rest after a long battle with cancer.
Domingo was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Francisco Vela.
Left to cherish in his memory is his wife; Amy Gonzalez, daughter; Amy Michelle Vela, mother; Maria Cruz Vela, siblings: Debbie Vela, Anthony “Tony” Vela, Mark Vela, Veronica Vela, Javier Vela, Ana Alicia (Samuel) Villegas, Michael (Sylvia) Vela, Aurora (Gil) Hernandez, Francisco Domingo Vela, and Alma Leticia Maldonado as well as by many nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Road. A Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018, departing at 8 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Catholic Burial at 8:30 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Internment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

I met Mingo during my Radiation treatments. I was honored to have met him and I know he had faith in God, he is now with our Lord Jesus Christ. Will keep his family in my prayers.
