Don Bonini 12/3/48 ~ 11/22/11 Resident of San Pablo, Ca Don was born and raised in El Cerrito, CA where he met his wife Janet when she asked him to the Sadie Hawkins dance his senior year of high school. Don is survived by his daughter Karen Bonini (Oakland), son David Bonini (Pinole), daughter-in-law Donnell (Reser) Bonini, brother Joe Bonini, nephew Mark Bonini (Cindy) in Pioneer, nephew Stephen Bonini (Elaine) in Benicia, in laws Tom and Nancy Patten, niece and nephew Amy and Daniel Patten, Martinez, CA. Don has three grandchildren, Brittany Hopkins (Texas), Serra Bonini (Pinole) and Cindy Bonini (Vallejo). Don was a colorful baseball umpire, proud father and grandfather, story teller, bragger when it came to his kids and grandkids, game player, strategist, pool shark, fisherman, landscaper, newspaper deliveryman for over 20 years. Don will be reunited with his childhood sweetheart and wife, Janet, his mother and father Catherine and Mario, his sister Barbara and his beloved sister in law Doris. Please join us on Saturday, Dec 10, 2011, to celebrate the life of a man who had a larger than life laugh. Services at Wilson & Kratzer Civic Center Chapel 455 24th St, Richmond CA (510) 232-4383. The viewing will be from 10 to 11am and the service starts at 11am. Immediately afterward we will host a reception at the Pinole Sportsman's Club 201 Pinon Ave,Pinole, CA. We will gather there to tell stories, watch video clips of Don umpiring, and laugh.
