GLASER, DONALD ROBERT, 73, of Louisville, passed away June 23, 2006, following a long fight with leukemia. Rev. Glaser was born February 21, 1933, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Robert and Sophie Glaser. He graduated from Lockland High School in 1951, where he was valedictorian, and from Ohio Wesleyan University in June, 1955. He entered the U.S. Air Force in February 1956, and served for three years as a B-47 pilot in the Strategic Air Command, achieving the rank of Captain. Returning to civilian life, Rev. Glaser received his Masters Degree from Ohio State University and taught 11 years at Euclid Ohio High School. He then attended Eden Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO, where he received his Masters of Divinity Degree, May 1974. Rev. Glaser was ordained in the United Church of Christ on April 27, 1975, and served the First Congregational UCC, Dupo, IL, and St. Peter's UCC in Dubois, IN, for a total of nine faithful years. He then became a private business person in Louisville before retiring, spending his later years at his home he loved in Louisville. He traveled extensively in North America and Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Louise Jewett of Florida. Survivors include two sons, David Michael Glaser and James Martin Glaser, both of Washington, DC; his brother, Richard H. Glaser of Wilmington, OH; his sister, Roberta Lamb of Cincinnati, OH; four nieces and one nephew; and many friends, all of whom he cherished and loved. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at 809 Stoneykirk Dr. Foreman's, Jeffersontown, is in charge of arrangements.
