Edith Bowen Obituary

Funeral service for Edith Irene Bowen will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Ken Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Edith passed away Saturday afternoon Feb. 7, 2009, at her home at the Wood Manor Nursing Center in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 91.She was born April 2, 1917, and was one of two children born to Elmer Leroy and Ida Jane Harrison. In 1935 she married Grover Cecil Bowen and had two children; Cecil Eugene and Linda Jane. She had one brother; Elmer Harrison. She was a tremendous help to her husband in the church. Together they pastured many Free Will Baptists Churches. She truly enjoyed her family. She was a woman always providing faith and a big heart. Amazing home cooking could fill your heart beyond measure. She truly loved life. We all should learn to love each other the way that she loved us.Family members surviving include her son, Cecil “Gene“ Bowen, of Bedford, Texas, her daughter, Linda Marler, of Claremore, grandchildren, Julee Hornisher and husband Bill Hornisher of Hurst, Texas, Scott Bowen of Richland Hills, Texas, Dwight Bowen of Tulsa, Kim Jordan and husband Randy Jordan of Claremore, and Jim Marler and wife Pam Marler of Houston, Texas, 11 great-grandchildren, Sara Hornisher, Melissa Hornisher, and Billy Hornisher of Hurst, Texas, Brad Bunch, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Brooke Jordan of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ryan Jordan of Claremore, Tyler Marler, Cody Marler, Logan Marler, Chelsea Marler, and Hayden Marler of Houston, Texas.
