Edith Jeffers Clowers

Edith Jeffers Clowers, 94, of Signature Health Care Center of Greeneville, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Signature Health Care Center of Greeneville.

She was a housewife.
Mrs. Clowers was a member of Willoughby Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Willoughby Ruritan Club.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Frances Hammitt and Ed Taylor of Bulls Gap; a son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Billie Clowers of Bulls Gap; two grandchildren: Michael Hammitt and wife, Karen, of Greeneville; Robbie Turner and husband, Billy, of Bulls Gap; two great grandchildren: Jamie Turner and wife, Tiffany; Andy Turner; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Jeffers of Mosheim, Lena Craddock of Greeneville; a special friend: June Waddell.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ada Cox Jeffers and was preceded in death by her
husband of 64 years, James Clowers; a sister, Fonda Black; six brothers, Lee, Howard, Ralph,
Earl, Paul, and Bruce Jeffers; a son-in-law: Jack Hammitt.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Dr. Johnny Shipley and Rev. Chris Franklin will officiate. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Willoughby Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Rader, Andy Turner, Jamie Turner, Terry Jeffers, David Jeffers, Mickey Jeffers, and Paul Clowers.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday preceding the funeral service at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:00 noon Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
