Edward Joseph "Eagle" Houle

Edward Joseph Houle, known affectionately as Eagle, passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 82 in Easton, Massachusetts. He was born on April 15, 1941, in Tarrytown, New York, to the late Edward Joseph Houle and Doris Evelyn Houle.

Edward's life was deeply intertwined with that of his loving wife, MaryLou. They met on August 8, 1964, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. Their first date consisted of attending church together and sharing a cup of coffee. Edward and MaryLou celebrated 58 years of marriage, demonstrating their unwavering commitment and devotion to one another.

Edward is survived by his sister, Doris Lewis of Florida, his wife MaryLou, their two children Jeannine Houle and Lynnette Sussman and her husband David Sussman and his niece Terri Goncalves. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Shaw, Dylan Shaw, Matthew Goncalves, and Emily Sussman.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Edward proudly served his country. He spent the majority of his life residing in Quincy, Massachusetts, before retiring to Easton, where he enjoyed the peacefulness of his surroundings.

Edward was known for his kind and compassionate nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his love for his family knew no bounds. Edward's warm heart touched the lives of many, and his memory will be cherished forever.

A service to honor Edward's life will be held on Sunday, October 8th, from 12:30pm to 3:00pm at Southeast Funeral and Cremation located at 93 Center St. Easton, MA 02356.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Old Colony Hospice in memory of Edward Joseph Houle.
