Ernest Albert Dubay

MILFORD - Ernest A. Dubay, 87, died peacefully August 29, 2015 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born June 19, 1928 a son of Lionel Joseph and Etta (Fogarty) Dubay.

Ernest graduated from Old Town High School Class of 1947. He served with the Merchant Marines, enlisting at age 16, with the permission of his mother. He worked for over 40 years at Striars Textile, retiring as mill superintendent, in 1990. Ernie enjoyed the outdoors spending time rabbit hunting, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and riding his motor cycle. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching football. He also enjoyed puttering in his garage. He was a member of the American Legion, Pine Tree Snowmobile Club, Rocky Mountain Trail Riders ATV club. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and always put his family first. He was a kind, thoughtful, generous and loving man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Coral (Babb) Dubay; three daughters Cheryl Pieske and her husband William of Waldo, Rhonda Wentworth and her husband John of Unity, and Maureen Tozier of Waldo; daughter-in-law Gwen Dubay of Zionsville, IN; 11 grandchildren Ty Dubay, Tara Dubay, Amy Campbell, Jason Pieske, Charlene Pieske, Jeffrey Pieske, Amanda Wentworth, John L. Wentworth, Sarah Wentworth,Trevor Tozier, Nathan Tozier; 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Gloria Rugan and her husband Terry of Milford; Geneva Walters of Charleston, special nephew Calvin Carey, and special friend Mike Johnson; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Lionel Dubay in 1985 and 9 siblings Arthur Dubay, Margaret Carey, Emma Carey, Charles Dubay, Walter Dubay, William Dubay, Albert Dubay, Robert Dubay and Louis Dubay.

A memorial gathering and celebration of his life will be conducted 4-7 Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where an informal public of sharing of stories will be held at 6:30pm.
