Ernest Noack Wolff FORT WORTH--Ernest Noack Wolff, 89, passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017. FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. He was born July 28, 1929, to Ernest and Olga Wolff in Fort Worth. He grew up on the Southside and graduated from Paschal High School in 1945 and then graduated from TCU with a Bachelor's in Mathematics. Ernest began working at the USPO during college and continued with a career that spanned over 40 years. Ernest served in the Korean War for the U.S. Navy, returning to Fort Worth at the end of the war. In the early '60s, he met Catherine "KT" Turner in a singles class at First United Methodist Church. They married July 23, 1966, and he became the beloved stepfather to Gloria, Jimmy, Lisa and Anne. Ernest was devoted to KT. They enjoyed playing bridge, traveling in the U.S. and internationally, and ballroom dancing. He also had a lifelong, loving relationship with his three great-nephews and niece, Shan, Peter and Katie Wolff, and played a special role in their lives until his death. Ernest grew up at Central Methodist church (now Arborlawn Methodist) where he and his parents were members. For many years, Ernest helped count money after services. After retirement, Ernest joined KT at First United Methodist and enjoyed attending Lamar Smith's seniors class. Ernest also served as a bailiff in the civil courts, part-time in Tarrant County. He enjoyed World War II history and was also a committed Horned Frog, holding season tickets for 50 years. His last game was the TCU-UT game of 2015. He could quote stats from the various teams going back those 50 years if asked. Ernest's love of mathematics was one of his most distinguishing characteristics -- multiplying large numbers in seconds and quoting what day of the week a long-past date was, with ease. He amazed us with the facts he would share throughout conversation quoting dates things happened in the family's lives that we had forgotten. He loved telling stories about his childhood and had a long relationship with all of his relatives that included annual reunions until last year when travel became more difficult. Ernest was diagnosed with Parkinson's 13 years ago but his infectious attitude and joy were unchanged until his death. Ernest and KT were married for 48 years until her death in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy; and great-nephew, Shan. SURVIVORS: He is survived by his children, Gloria Buckley (Michael Ewerz), Jimmy Buckley, Lisa Cerovsky (Rick), Anne Jackson (Charles); grandchildren, Whitney Buehrle (Clay), Hayley Peters (JW), Dr. Cate Yaggi (Brian), Dr. Stephanie Cevorsky, Jacob Jackson, Alex Jackson; great-grandchild, Laura Buehrle; nephews, Dr. William Wolff (Gail), Michael Wolff (Wanda); great-nephews and nieces, Peter Wolff, Katie Wolff, Christopher Wolff, Heather Wolff.
