Gary J. Grimm Sr.

Oakdale- Gary J. Grimm Sr., 78, of Oakdale, CT, beloved husband of Elizabeth W. Grimm, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born December 10, 1936 in Manchester, CT, the son of the late William and Mildred Grimm. Gary was a 1954 graduate of Manchester High School. He worked at Pratt and Whitney and retired from United Nuclear Corporation in December, 1991. Gary was an amateur radio operator for over 60 years. His call letters were W1tmx. He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics.

In addition to his wife Elizabeth, Gary is survived by his brother Richard Grimm (Barbara) of Florida, and by his sister Marjorie Grimm (Edwin). He is also survived by his sons Gary J. Grimm Jr. of Cromwell, CT, Mark B. Grimm (Tammy) of Texas, Christen P. Grimm (Barbara) of Oakdale, CT and daughter Lorrel A. Wilczek (David) of Taftville, CT, along with three step sons, John Egner (Janna) of California, Randall Egner of North Carolina and Eric Egner of North Stonington, CT, a sister in law Jean Anderson of Long Beach Island, NJ and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by his brothers Roger Grimm of San Jose, CA and Ronald Grimm of NJ.

A memorial service will be held at the Leffingwell Baptist Church, 388 Salem Turnpike, Bozrah on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 6 pm. A reception will follow the memorial service.
