Gary LEE Obituary
Father Gary Lee passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 4, 2015 in Drayton Valley, at the age of 39 years.
Father Gary was born in the City of Davao, Philippines, to Pablo Lee and Evelyn Fernandez. The eldest of four children, he has a brother Kim Michael, a sister Paulynne and a youngest brother, Paul Justin.
Father Gary entered St. Joseph Seminary in Edmonton in September 2000 and was ordained by Cardinal Thomas Collins on April 18, 2006. Father Lee served as Associate Pastor at St. Mary's Parish in Red Deer and then at St. Theresa Parish in Edmonton. He was appointed Pastor of St. Agnes Parish, Mayerthorpe and St. Elizabeth Parish, Evansburg in 2010. In 2012, he generously accepted to become the Pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Drayton Valley as well.
Vigil Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Joseph's Basilica, 10044 – 113 Street, Edmonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the same location, with Most Reverend Richard Smith, Archbishop of Edmonton, presiding. Interment will take place in the Philippines.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Priests' Foundation of Edmonton.
