George Edgar Douglas

DOUGLAS – George Edgar, 55, Colwick Court NW, Concord, N.C., passed away Feb. 18, 2010, at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center. George was born May 8, 1954, in McKeesport, son of the late George P. and Dorothy (Woods) Douglas. Preceded in death by brother, Barry Douglas, and sister, Patricia McGaha. He was employed as director of transportation for the Cabarrus County school system and was district president of the NC Pupil Transportation Association. George was a member and elder of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, where he also was on the Boy Scout Troop 38 committee and was a former scoutmaster. George is survived by wife, Louise (Bieniasz) Douglas; son, Jared W. Douglas, at home; daughter, Erin L. Douglas, Savannah, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Jay Smith.
