I was privileged to attend church with George for several years and to visit with George on several occasions. He was one of the kindest people I have ever known. I loved to listen to his WWII stories. My grandmother came to the U.S. from Luxembourg to flee German oppression. George was a part of the liberation of that country in WWII. I remember the deep sadness in his eyes as he talked of liberating concentration camps. It is as though the pain and atrocities he witnessed had engraved upon his heart an unyielding tenderness that always loved and refused to add any more pain to this world. Out of him flowed a kindness that celebrated the life and value of everyone he met. I will miss him.

I had the privilege of working with George at the FBI in Salt Lake City in 1974 until his retirement. He was one of my favorites! He was always happy and helpful. I wanted to wish my sincere condolences to all of his family. May the Lord Bless and Keep you! Kaye Liefting

Bill and Bob and Family,
What dear, dear friends George and Annelle were for many, many years. I became their deacon from MOPC back in the early 80's and eagerly looked forward to my weekly visits with the two of them. We became fast friends and even after I moved away, and after sweet Annelle's passing, I would always make sure to stop by for a visit when I was back in Salt Lake. May you be filled with warm, joyful memories.
My deepest condolences to you all!
Fondly,
Lizbeth Denkers

George and Annelle were patients in our Dental Office for 36 years. During that time they became extended family and we looked forward to their dental visits. George was a gentleman in every way. He was a very kind, happy, loving person, you always felt uplifted after a visit with George and the stories he told. Sweet. gentle people like George will live on in our hearts forever, it was a blessing to know him. Dr. Jeffrey Ward, and Staff; Julie, Shirley.

What a beautiful obituary, and it really captured Gramps' generosity and sense of humor. I still quote his oft-used lines all the time, including "you can call me anything, so long as it's not late for lunch!" He lived an exemplary life was a beautiful man whose memory will always stay with our family.

George and Annelle are two of my favorite people! I still carry a copy of a photograph of the two of them, when George was stationed in Iceland, that George gave me several years ago. He lived an amazing life and never lost his zest for living. I'm sure he was hoping to make it to 100 - He gave it a good shot though - and I'm sure Annelle is happy he's with her again. My condolensces to the family. He will be missed, but he will also definitely be remembered!
