Gerald Gerhardt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 16, 2013.
Gerald Gerhardt Gerald "Gerry" Gerhardt, 76, of Bothell, WA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; two children, (Steve and Laurel); four grand-children, (Nicole, Elliot, Jeremie and Morgen); and two brothers; Roger and Paul. Gerry lived a full life and is now at rest and at home with our Lord, Jesus. He accepted Christ as Savior at age 8 and was a faithful follower his entire life. He was a graduate of West Valley High Yakima (National Honor Society), graduated King's Vocational Bible Institute and Edison Technical School (Airframe and Power Plant mechanics license), was a licensed professional electrical engineer since 1977, and held a commercial pilot's license and a real estate license. He practiced engineering in Yakima, Hoquiam and Seattle, Washington from 1961 until he retired at age 73. He was one of the few in Washington state to obtain a professional engineering license through self study. Gerry was married to the love of his life, Sylvia, for 53 years. His family was his greatest joy. He was a gifted woodworker and had much knowledge of fixing things that he generously shared with loved ones and people in need. Gerry accomplished many DIY projects, enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and walking. He was a great man and will be truly missed. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Canyon Hills Community Church, 22027 17th Ave SE, Bothell, WA 98021, phone (425) 488-4121. All who knew Gerry and the family are welcome.

We were stunned to hear of dear Jerry's passing. We have many wonderful memories of times in our home (and yours) where Jerry and Sylvia were a part of the Home Group. Our love to you Sylvia and your family, and be assured that you will be in our constant prayers. May His peace and the comfort of the Holy Spirt rest on you all.
