Glenn M. Stallings

Glenn M. Stallings, age 90, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011, at the Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM.
Glenn was born March 31, 1921, in Quail, TX, to Tom and Maude Stallings. He moved to Tucumcari as a young child and lived on the family farm and ranch northwest of Tucumcari. He served in the US Navy during World War II as a welder, helping build naval ships in Houston, TX. After his military service, he moved to San Jon, NM, and farmed 500 acres of dryland broomcorn with  a two row tractor. He married Jean Gloria Hubbard in 1948. In 1954, he and his family moved to the family farm northeast of Tucumcari. There he retired after many years of farming. He was a warm and very caring man. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who deeply loved his family. He loved to hunt and fish and always shared this passion with his family.
 Surviving Glenn Stallings is his son, Clayton Stalling and wife, Kathy of Clovis, NM; his daughter, Glenda Reid and husband, Si of Tucumcari, NM; four grandchildren, Ray Gardner and Ashley of Amarillo, TX, Melissa Currell and Duane of Albuquerque, NM, Kurt Stallings of Canyon, TX, and Ashlee Bryant and Troy of Laverne, OK, along with 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Stallings in September of 2000.
 Services celebrating his life will be on Thursday morning, December 1, 2011, in the Dunn Memorial Chapel beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Peacock, Steve Peacock, Ray Gardner, Kurt Stallings, Robert Curtis, and Dallas Dowell. Honorary bearers will be all of his friends and neighbors.
Services have been intrusted to the Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari, NM.
